Hiking is one of my favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors, and something I try to incorporate into every trip I take no matter where I travel. It usually doesn’t cost anything (not counting what you’ll spend on hiking gear or on accommodation if you do an overnight trek), it’s low risk and low impact, and it doesn’t require any technical gear or skills beyond a good pair of hiking shoes and the ability to put one foot in front of the other over and over again.
